Ghost by Great Northern Bowhunting
Great Northern Ghost Recurve:
The original design concept for our Ghost Recurve was inspired by the Glenn St. Charles "Thunderbird" recurve, designed and built in the 1950’s. This sleek, one piece recurve hides amazing speed and smoothness of draw in it’s simple design. Our goal was to design a recurve that departed from the common recurve format. We wanted a slimmer, lighter handling recurve with significantly less mass then standard recurves, a recurve that was quick to handle, delivering the speed recurve shooters expect and enjoy.
The limbs measure 1 ½" wide at the fadeouts, tapering to 9/16" at the string nocks. The riser is 16" or 17" long depending on overall bow length. The handle is 4 7/8" in circumference at the leather grip. The arrow shelf is cut 1/8" out from center, just as our longbows are. This allows for switching between any of our longbows without having to make adjustments for shelf differences. The Ghost has 8” “power wedges” within the limb tips, enhancing speed and smoothness of draw.
The Ghost Recurve limbs are available in your choice of red elm, osage, hickory or bamboo.
Riser woods are available in your choice from our Dymondwood range.
Note: Nock overlays will match riser wood unless requested otherwise.
Note: Available with the sight window - "Cut to center" or "1/8" from center"
Available lengths: 58", 60" and 62".
Recommended brace height: 7 ¼" - 7 ½"
All Great Northern Bows are shipped in a Great Northern bow case.
All Great Northern bows are designed with the bowhunter in mind. We refuse to sacrifice smoothness, stability, or pointability for a few more feet per second. Our bows are balanced and make fine hunting partners.
Through the years Great Northern bows have evolved into efficient hunting weapons. From our longer Traditional Longbow, to the more recent and compact Lil' Creep - each and every one is hand crafted with meticulous attention to detail and built to last a lifetime, or two.
We take a lot of pride in our work and we hope you'll agree that it shows. Our best recommendations come from bowhunters already shooting our bows. We're not comfortable bragging on ourselves, it's not in our nature, so we invite you to try one of our bows today - and see for yourself.
